I suppose chemical works might be stretching it a bit, but this one was extractive in that it extracted bromine from seawater. A Daily Post article last week saying that someone was planning to buy the site, and promising the earth employment wise, together with some photos they'd sourced from 28DL or similar prompted a quick trip yesterday. The main gate is open, and all the locals seem to be taking their dogs for walkies around the site. Anyway, probably a good last chance to have a look around before the promised developments take place.

Octel bromine works Amlwch
The Associated Octel bromine works Amlwch, Anglesey, North Wales ceased production in March 2004.This brought to an end a history of chemical production in the Amlwch area which had started in 1760's with the Parys Mountain copper mine.
