Practical Coal Mining Book - Request for Photo!

I am preparing some information for a presentation, for which it would be really useful to have a photo from the 'Practical Coal Mining' book, however my book is at home, and I won't be able to get it before I need to finish this.

If anybody has a copy handy, and could send me a photo of the section on "Support of the Roof", specifically the diagrams of methods for driving in soft ground, I would be extremely grateful.

Please let me know if you can help!

Thanks in advance,

Sam T

I hadn't seen that, very interesting thank you, but not quite the one I need.

It's an early edition, C.1920s that I've got. The diagram is of driving lagging forward at an upward angle into the soft ground, then undercutting & placing props.

You are looking for something called “forepoling”.
I can’t help at present. Like you I am away from home!
