There are a lot of accessible mines in the Peak - what level of experience/technical skill are you after? Mouldridge is a good easy walk-in, Devonshire Cavern has plenty to see though routefinding off the main trail can be "fun", ditto Wapping-Cumberland. The Via Gellia has plenty to go at, or if you're experienced in SRT, Oxlow/Maskhill, odin, Water Icicle or Knotlow.
As for fluorspar mines that have been blocked up, there's only Milldam and Watersaw that have been blocked - there are a lot of others still open, like Hanging Flat?

Thank you for the spots, I’ll have a look at them. I’m just getting comfortable with art at the moment so nothing to wild that’s going to put me off. I’ve recently done cwmystwyth a few times but the drive is too far for a day trip unfortunately.
I haven’t heard of hanging flat but I’ll have a nosey at it, is access easy? I visited Middleton mine before Christmas but unfortunately it’s closed up

Hanging Flat's not that big but it's right at the side of the road through Stoney Middleton Dale and you can just walk in. You may be able to park nearby, but if the weather's good there'll be climber's cars everywhere. Good advice already above. Hanging Flat is a little classic. Mouldridge is nice and easy too. Did Wapping-Cumbernauld recently and it is hard but rewarding.
i'm from retford so unfortunately there isn't anything local to me. most of the past year has been spent in Wales in the metal and slate mines but doing things closer would be a bonus

We have a member from Retford and a bunch of people from Nottingham sort of area! Our Retford guy does all sorts with us. He's about 45 mins from things?
You're more than welcome to come on one of our extra-welcoming trips sometime. After that, you'll be welcome on all our other trips. We're fairly active.
No pressure, just warm invitation if it feels like the right thing.
