I figure it’ll get seen by more people in this thread.

For anyone thinking of doing the through trip the rope on the final pitch down into Gilbert’s level is coreshot. We did it on Saturday and isolated it with an alpine butterfly but COMRU have since put a post up about it.

That’s concerning it was only recently re-rigged by CATMHS. Had it been rubbing?

Yeh. It looks like the waterfall has been shaking the rope and i think it had rubbed through on the deviation. By the sound of it CATMHS are sorting it out.

They are planning a trip this weekend I think to remove it.

Do you have any idea if they’re going to replace it?

As far as I know, it's just going to be removed. I can't see a lot of point in replacing it if it will just get destroyed again.

I am sure there'll be a discussion in CATMHS about it.
