Hi Peter,

How long ago was that, if you don’t mind me asking ?? And how far could you get in, what were conditions like, and do you think you could get that far in now ??

Our last visit was September 2017. The level runs straightish towards the main vein. Eventually there is a roof fall which blocks the way on. There is also a north-east branch which becomes arch deep in water. You also pass an air shaft to surface on the way-in. Very wet conditions, very ochrey. Best visited in warm weather. No gate - just a weir.

According to Dunham there were 26 mineralised intersections but only one of near economic grade at the horizon intersected (Swandale Vein). No mention of intersecting existing workings
