We recently went to see Underland, based on the amazing book by Robert Macfarlane at one of the special Q&A screenings. All is can say is wow… what a film!
From the exploration of remote caves in Yucatán to a deep laboratory in Canada researching ‘dark matter’ it’s all based around what’s beneath our feet, which let’s be honest, most people never even give a moments notice to! It’s a fascinating and somewhat mind blowing glimpse into the scale of what lies beneath us, whilst asking bigger existential questions about humanity.
If you haven’t read, or listened to the book, which came out about 6 years ago now, it has other elements which will be of special interest to Buddlepit members, eg the large salt mine in Boulby is explored by the author.
Anyhow, if it comes to a cinema near you… go see it!!
