On the ground there is plenty of evidence of very shallow working with a lot of waste rock under the leaf litter.

An un-named sandstone quarry is shown on the 1849 Ordnance Survey map of the area. By 1890 the quarry isn’t marked or labelled.

There are public RoWs though the woodland.
