1823 Part of East Wheal Crofty. A small and old operation, was reportedly active as early as 1778, primarily extracting cobalt ores according to Pryce’s records. By 1830, it became part of the East Wheal Crofty property, eventually acquired by South Crofty Mine upon its establishment in 1854. By this point, the copper lodes at Dudnance were depleted, prompting new workings to focus on the southern boundary of the settlement. Presently, much of the area has been developed for other purposes.
