N-S series of old shafts.
Remnants of the mine’s processing area are found southwest of the main buildings, around SJ 1950 7240. Nearby, a group of cottages at the same location is believed to have once served as the mine office or the residence of the mine manager.
To the north of the Pentre Halkyn to Babell Road at SJ 1955 7230, a small cluster of old mine shafts and spoil mounds remains covered in grass. These workings seem to have followed a north-south alignment, forming a distinct line of shafts. Historical records indicate that Grainger’s Vein, as noted by Smith in 1921, was mined in this same area. Any traces of mining south of the road have been erased due to the expansion of the Pantypwll Quarry.
