An extensive tin mine with numerous shafts situated on the edge of Foxtor Mire has become heavily overgrown over time. Most of the mine buildings have disappeared, although a row of workers’ cottages and the dressing floor below them on the other side of the lane still remain (as of September 2003). The mine ceased operations around 1876.
