There is an open shaft with some rubbish in it in scrubland at the given location.
There is also an adit at sea level to the north.

MJ 1872 p 761 Aug 10. 3“ Letter from Henry Gibson extolling the virtues of Pany-Y-Gaseg:

[sic]. “They have cleared out the water and timbered down the shaft, sunk 3 fms 2 ft also driven on the Pant-y-Gaseg lode named Shillitoe’s Lode, cleared and made good for the safety of the miners, and driven on the course of the lode 28 fms 6 in, including cross cuts, and sinking a winze about 9 ft, discovering a level formerly worked by the Romans (where some native stone hammers were found) clearing out and driving a beautiful lode 3 fms - This is called Roman level - building smiths and carpenters shops…”.

MJ 1872 p 862 Sept 14.

“Mining in Anglesey - In our recent tour through Anglesey we paid a visit to the Great Mona Mine; afterwards we paid a similar compliment to the new mine, Pant-y-Gaseg and was much pleased with the appearance of this property. We visited the old Roman level, and wondered, centuries ago, how the workmen mined in those days, with the rude tools then used. The copper is of the same description as Mona. We also saw some of the beautiful umber and ochre taken out in our presence; we were amazed at the Kaolinite. It is our impression this will be a great mine very shortly. From all appearances the miners are chosen, picked men. They speak well of their manager, Mr J M Williams, also of the spirited promoter in London, and state that they have greatest faith the proprietors will shortly amply repay their outlay”.
