A 1935 trial that was initiated, primarily focusing on old mine workings up to a depth of 200 feet. Although no lode was found in this area, the decomposed killas contained thin streaks of dark tourmaline peach, including cassiterite. However, the values were inconsistent, leading to the cessation of work in 1939, despite producing up to 2 tons of black tin concentrates per month until then. During the Wheal Maid Decline exploration project in the early 1980s, the Whiteworks zone was intersected, granting access to the old stopes. Additionally, the Whiteworks Shaft was equipped with a ladderway to serve as an emergency exit for the decline.
