Old lead mine situated on banks of Englishman’s Burn, on the steep sides of the burn in Balloch Wood, about three-quarters of a mile upstream from Creetown. Little now to be seen.

Small vein striking a little north of west in greywackes of Silurian age was tried for lead ore between 1862 and 1864.



Produced 11.5 tons of ore between 1862 and 1864
