Two large shafts lie side by side at SJ 1890 6870, located in a modern dumping site to the north of Fron Farm, south of the Pen Bronwiski Mine. To the south of Fron Farm, two more large isolated shafts are found at SJ 1875 6820, east of Cilcain Hall, and at SJ 1910 6825, northwest of the Hendre Quarry buffer zone. The latter shaft is probably the old Bromley’s Shaft, part of the North Hendre Mine. Additional shafts can be found in the fields to the northwest of Cilcain Hall, on land belonging to Pen-y-gelli Farm
