Small sandstone quarry known to have been worked by Thomas Haydock of Rainford, stone mason, in 1718. Haydock bought the land a few years later. By the time of enclosure in 1840 the quarry was occupied by Edward Ball, delf master, with the land owner recorded as the Earl of Derby. It is thought to have ceased operation soon after this.
