A nicely constructed tramway curves up to the workings, passing the remains of a building and wheelpit. The purpose of this building is not known. A short adit leads to collapses reulting from the untopping. Main quarry area is fenced but untopping has broken through to a chamber and the haulage adit. Higher up are two windowed entrances to chamber caused by the later work.
Originally a surface working then later underground. Shut by the late 1880s. Reworked briefly in the 1890s. Mill was remote from the quarry due to low water supply at the quarry. Quarry area and mill linked by a tramway. Mill area destroyed by road works and landscaping in the 1980s. Quarry untopped in the 1990’s.
