Mid-19th century lead mine working the Eyam Edge veins at their Eastern end. Lower half of Cornish engine house survives, converted to a barn. Chimney was demolished in the 1970s.

The main beam was reputed to have accidentally been dropped down the shaft when removing the engine and is still lodged there but this has not been confirmed.
