Including Wheal Mount adit. Adjacent to Providence Mines, East Wheal Providence operated several of the same lodes. In 1834, Captain Joseph Vivian recommended its inclusion in the Providence Mines sett, but this suggestion was not implemented. Reopened in 1857 by a separate company from Providence Mines, East Wheal Providence seemed to suffer from mismanagement. According to accounts from old miners in the 1920s, it was considered the worst laid-out mine they had encountered. Despite these challenges, East Wheal Providence managed to produce 78 tons of black tin between 1863 and 1871.
