A total of six pits were excavated on this property. The initial ore extraction from No.1 pit began in 1879 under the management of the Gillfoot Park Mining Company. This company operated the mine until 1901 when it was acquired by the Wyndham Mining Company. Gillfoot Park yielded numerous high-quality calcite groups, frequently displaying twinning patterns known as ‘butterfly’ twins. Additionally, notable specimens of kidney-ore were found in this area.
