Company promoted by Absalom Francis to promote the mine.
1853
Engine Shaft down to 10fm below adit, with two water wheels, one for pumping and driving 30“ crushing mill, and 20’ wheel for powering a drawing machine.
1854-1855
Good ore reported in shaft, but only about a ton was sold. At a general meeting of the company, Francis put this down to bad weather adding that ‘in the scale of working this mine will give as good profits as any mine in Cardiganshire, - - - and I entertain no doubts of good results in future’. This was not backed up by the discovery that he and brother Matthew had forfeited 100 shares by non-payment of calls! Some efforts were made to prove the presence of gold bearing gossan, trials allegedly indicating over 2oz per ton.
1853-1875
371 tons of lead ore, 700 tons of blende returned.
