After surface remediation on the landfill in 2005 the site is now a closed ‘nature reserve’. A section of quarried face remains below the beacon but the fence prevents access.

After closure the quarry was used as a domestic waste landfill site. Power is generated from the methane produce by waste decomposition.

No access and still (in 2026) signposted as an ’active site. Paths go around the perimeter.
