Has uranite and pitchblende uranium minerals. A small copper mine that operated in the eastern section of the Bahavella lode, positioned south of the Standard lode of St Ives Consols. The Bahavella lode runs approximately parallel to the Standard lode, situated about 300 yards away. The mine accessed the lode through obscured shafts south of Wheal Trenwith and an adit from Porthminster Beach, extending westward for 100 fathoms. The lode, within the mine’s boundaries, was found in pale grey killas (clay schists) and contained copper along with minor uranium ores. As the lode progressed westward into granite territory, it carried tin ores, which were exploited by Wheal Applin. The grid reference denotes the location of a shaft, which a farmer accidentally rediscovered in the early 20th century while attempting to construct a shed over it. Presently, this area has been developed over.
