This mine was the primary operation on the Perran Iron Lode, initially utilizing opencast methods before transitioning to shaft mining, notably Roebucks shaft reaching a depth of 145 meters. Ore shoots were believed to be contained within NNW transverse planes or faults. Additionally, a N-S lead lode intersected the iron lode, with some development on it. Active between 1828-1886, the mine faced challenges due to the decomposition of pyrite, leading to high temperatures and poor air quality. Recorded output includes 34,000 tons of iron ore, 760 tons of pyrite, 180 tons of ochre, 20,000 tons of zinc ore, 185 tons of copper ore, and 3 tons of lead ore.
