Single shaft is located in a field to the west of Groesffordd Farm at SJ 16157 1340. Two additional shafts lie within overgrown woodland at SJ 1613 7121 and SJ 1615 7126, situated south of the road passing the farm. A stone cattle shed near the shaft at SJ 1615 7126 may have been adapted from the surviving walls of a former mine-related structure.

Mining activity in the vicinity of Groesffordd Farm was noted by Smith in 1921, who suggested that it could be related to the Plasau Mine. This mine was located one mile east of Ysceifiog and was known to be in operation during the 1840s.
