Further down the burn of the same name from Burtreepasture Mine lies an older lead mine. This mine features numerous dumps, most of which are now grassed-over. Operated by the Beaumont Company, it was worked for lead from 1818 to 1878. Subsequently, from 1900 to 1948, the Weardale Lead Co. worked the mine for fluorspar.
