Griffin Mine consists of a series of gated levels up the hillside behind the Aberllyn mill. Workings on 5 levels. The top, westerly workings are the Pen-yr-allt workings working the E-W Penyrallt Lode and were originally independent.

The lower Griffin workings on two Nw_SE lodes are on the site of the old 1860s Cwmlanerch Mine, and are not connected to the Griffin workings higher up the hill.

The Deep Adit - or Griffin #1 (formerly Cwmlanerch #1) is between the road and the railway line

Bruner Mond took over the workings at the turn of the 20C, and drove a Haulage Level to tram ore direct to the Aberllyn Mill.
