According to Trotter, the Coleford High Delf seam ranged in thickness from 1.5 to 6.5 feet and was being worked from No. 4 Air Shaft on the Fairplay Mine drainage level by 1907. Trotter also asserts that the Brazilly seam was accessed via the No. 1 Air Shaft, although this claim is disputed by D. Tuffley. In January 1998, a planning application was submitted to reopen the mine and extract 35,000 tons of Coleford High Delf coal.
