  • 1970 - Colliery classed as uneconomic, leading to closure. Site leased by Red Rose Live Steam Group. Site mothballed and managed on Care and Maintenance basis.
  • 1982 Renamed as Red Rose Steam Society Ltd., charity operating as local amenity and museum.
  • 2013 Winding engine restored.
  • 2022 Renamed The Lancashire Mining Museum Ltd.
