The extensive mining activities conducted in this area have yielded some of the finest specimens discovered in the Yorkshire Pennines. Baryte, notably, exhibits well-defined crystal formations here, showcasing diverse habits and occasionally displaying a pale blue hue. Fluorite is abundant, presenting clear to pale yellow untwinned cubes measuring up to 60 mm in size.
