Exploited the Rocky seam at a depth of 461 feet, with the shaft bottom reaching 476 feet. Additionally, a borehole extended deeper to 1,128 feet, passing through the Whittington coal seam at 1,121 feet. While most of the original mining infrastructure has disappeared, the former offices still survive and are now known as Castlemain Mill. Parkend House, which once housed the mine’s owner, also remains. Apart from these buildings, very little remains except for the large spoil tips scattered around the site.
