Just north of the former Cannop Colliery, this 3 to 4 acre site is now a Forestry Commission picnic area. Originally served by a railway line—now a footpath and cycle track—the site retains little evidence of its industrial past. Two flat terraces, one about 15 feet above the other, resemble playing fields, and to the east stands a mound with three iron bars protruding, possibly remnants of an engine house. The site produced 18,694 tons of output in 1880 and closed in 1926.
