Description
Backfilled and visible as spoil and depression in the field.
History
Due to High Peak mining law, ore mined in one liberty could not be raised in another, and the Odin vein crosses from Castleton Liberty into Peak Forest Liberty here.
Consequently two adjacent shafts had to be sunk, Forest Shaft is to the West.
