Wheal Cubert originated in 1846 through the merger of Trebisken Mine and Wheal Mexico (formerly Trebellan Mine), both small lead producers located in the valley south of Cubert village. Post-1850, it became known as Cubert United Mine. Over the period from 1846 to 1857, the combined mines yielded 1,334 tons of 63% lead ore and 7,912 ounces of silver. Previous production figures from the individual mines are documented under their respective sub-localities.
