The mine, featuring two levels, includes Skears Low Level, with the grid reference provided, and Firestone Level, which had its portal at NY94242787. In a departure from the norm in the orefield, the Skears Veins were designated alphabetically from A to H. Skears Low Level is distinguished by remarkable calcite flowstone deposits formed within the ore passes.
