Small mine operated approximately from 1853 to 1859. While there is limited information available about the mine’s workings, the 24-inch Stamps engine house remains standing on the slopes of Porkellis Moor. Interestingly, the engine house was believed to have been used as a dwelling in the past, evidenced by additional windows and a built-up bob wall. It has since been tastefully restored and transformed into a modern dwelling.
