Run in adit near corrugated shed opposite Oliver’s Adit. The name also became to be applied to Twll y Mwyn which was situated above.

1850 | Adit had already reached Twll y Mwyn by this date. Promoted by Mathew Francis, both mines reopened as Cwmdarren. |
1852 | 30ft wheel drove the pumps and crushing rollers. In the deepest parts of the mine ‘many Roman hammers have been found, very perfect’. |
1853 | T.P. Thomas who had an interest in the mine, and wanted to gain control put Michael Barberry in as agent. At December AGM, Thomas became secretary, promising to double the mine’s share value. Howver, the lode deteriorated. |
1854 | Became part of Darren Company to process their waste tips. |
1920 | Attempted re-opening by Consolidated Welsh Mines Ltd. |
Recorded output of 121 tons lead ore, 94 tons copper ore.
