Maddox Shaft is blocked, and Deep Level has collapsed. East of Deep Level are two open adits, while a collapsed adit lies to their west. One of the open adits leads to the base of a stope, which is loose and filled with dead sheep. The vein workings can be traced up the hillside, where the next entrance is a 15-foot drop into a small stope. The highest entrance is a short adit leading to an 80-foot deep winze with no exit at the bottom. These two adits are labeled as Lewis’s Exploration on an old map. Traces of opencuts and collapsed shafts mark the vein’s path over the hill.
Nearby, the remains of a booster station for an aerial cableway connecting Bog Mine to Minsterley can be found. Two tower bases associated with this station are located further north, with the second base below a cutting designed to help buckets clear the hill’s edge during descent.
