Worked the eastern portion of Tryphena lode from a series of shafts sunk over a distance of about 1100 yards. Plantation Shaft, at the western boundary of the sett, is located about 500 yards southeast of Killivose hamlet. It is connected on adit level with Llandower’s Shaft of Great Condurrow Mine. The grid reference marks one of several shaft dumps that can still be located in the fields between Tolcarne Road and Knave-go-by. The mine was worked for some time as part of Pendarves United Mines. Under the name Tryphena Mine, an output of 31 tons of black tin and 74 tons of 21% copper ore is recorded for the years 1847, 1848, and 1862. This locality should not be confused with the Tryphena lode of Wheal Pendarves. While Tryphena Mine worked the eastern portion of the lode, Wheal Pendarves worked its western extension.
