Near Boscreege Farm. Small tin mine operated in the area between Boscreeg and Resoon farms, where it worked five east-west trending lodes. Among these lodes, Engine Lode, located in the northern part of the mining area, was accessed from Engine Shaft. The engine powering the operations was driven by a water wheel, supplied by water from a leat diverted from the Rosemorran stream.
Dating back to 1837, the mine plans also indicate the presence of an adit, which was driven westwards from the valley in the east to connect with Engine Lode. A shaft associated with this adit can be found marked by a small burrow situated in the corner of a field east of Boscreeg farm.
The grid reference marks a large burrow located at the site of Engine Shaft, positioned along a field boundary southeast of Boscreeg farm.
