Workings to the north of Dyserth Waterfall are obscured by dense undergrowth on the hill slopes, which are skirted by Carreg Heilyn Lane. South of the waterfall, Ash Tree Shaft is located in the fields to the west of housing at SJ 0560 7920. Further west, the mine extended into the coal measures.

Mining returns recorded for just one year. However, there is evidence suggesting it operated for a longer time, possibly under the Talargoch Company after its initial period of activity. The mine’s workings, located to the north and south of the waterfall, worked the Carboniferous Limestone and Coal Measures.
