Two levels and an opencut north of Bollihope Burn were initially worked by W. B. Lead Co until 1854, after which they were taken over by the London Lead Co. The mine was reopened in 1941 specifically for fluorite extraction. Currently, neither of the levels are accessible, although some of the stopes reach the surface on the moor.
