The power station was demolished in 2021 and the site is due to be turned into houses and a school.

1987-1991 British Coal Corporation

The mine was built adjacent to Rugeley Power station (1961-2016.) Construction of the Power station begun 6 months after coaling had started. Coal was sent directly to the power station via a underground conveyer belt.
