The Maes-Maelor sett is located in the barren moorland of Llandegla, an area that does not seem to contain mineral veins. The Minera and Llanarmon Veins appear to stop at the Bala/Llanelidan Fault.

A level was driven into the mountainside about 20 meters below and to the northeast of the shafts (Pratt 1982).

Three collapsed shafts remain at SJ 2310 5800.

The base layers of what may have been a small engine house, measuring approximately 2m x 6m, are still visible. A chimney, now truncated at a height of 6 meters, stands as a notable landmark on the open moorland. Its base measures around 2m square, and a brick-lined flue extends from the north side of the chimney.
