Despite its location on the west bank of the Tyne north of Garrigill, Dunham inexplicably categorizes this mine within the Nent Valley area. It features two accessible levels, both reaching the same limited area of flats in the Tyne Bottom Limestone. Popular among collectors and outdoor adventure groups alike, the site is intersected by the Pennine Way long-distance footpath, which traverses its fairly extensive dumps.
