Amalgamation of several small mining operations situated near the boundary between Portreath and St Agnes parishes. These workings, along with Wheal Lushington, which primarily operated in Porthreath parish, collectively formed the Clarence and Lushington group. Additionally, a portion of the Wheal Clarence sett was worked under the name New Dolcoath Mine for a period, although the exact boundaries of this property are now unknown. It’s worth noting that according to Hamilton Jenkin’s research from 1962, Wheal Clarence, which may or may not include this specific mine, encompassed the setts of North, South, and East Budnock (also known as Budnick), Budnock Trevellas, and Wheal Barkla around the 1820s.
