Four E-W lodes in Lower Silurian investigated.

First Edition 1887 OS map shows three levels, with two shafts located at SN 8520 9733 and SN 8526 9707.



Year Activity
1850s? Old mine re-opened by John Taylor & Sons to investigate 4 lodes: Cae Conroy, Brynfedwen, South and Caunter - the last two being south of the main valley. A deep adit at 26 fm level had been driven to intersect Conruy and Brynfedwen lodes.
1853 Driving westwards on Cae Conroy lode to intersect new shaft from surface. Also a 20fm level on the south lode.
1855 Reservoir under construction to power a waterwheel to drive a crusher.
1857 26 miners working underground. At end of year, Taylor reports 13 month loss of £391.12.8d. He advised against further calls from the shareholders.
c1858 Closes having sold 158 tons of lead ore.
