Shaft and incline to it of North Mine still visible at Gelli-felen. Across road in wood are trials marking the original discovery. Below here is shallow adit, still open, and at bottom of hill is blocked deep adit (which is accesible via 30m deep winze from shallow adit).

1855 | Mr Thomas Fuller leases the sett as Wheal Morgan Company and starts sinking shaft (at soon to be called North Mine) at the original discovery 200m NW of Clydach Brook. |
1856 | Another lode found 700m to the south and work starts at so called South Mine. Adit driven south to open up North Mine. Trial pits and shaft started at South Mine. By general meeting in Dec, out of 512 shares, only 44 had been subscribed. Company closes. |
1857 | Lady Eliza Silver-Lead Mining Company formed, those subscribed not being paid for in full, so company not able to commence work. |
1860 | Company folds, replaced by another with the same name. Ore in deep adit of North Mine. Ventilation poor, so shallow adit driven and connected to deep via winze. |
1862 | Little work done after April. |
1863 | Company wound up. |
