Note: Following description is from Mindat. For the avoidance of doubt, mineral collecting in the Caldbeck Fells is only allowable under license, which are granted for specific zones.
The old copper mine referred to by this name yielded a plethora of micro lead, zinc, and copper supergene minerals, among which adamite and cornwallite were notable. It’s important to distinguish this from the newer Sandbeds and Potts Gill Baryte mine, which operated from 1946 until its ultimate closure in 1966. Unlike its older counterpart, the newer mine did not yield any specimens of significant note.
