Two pits, situated approximately half a mile south of Coleford, are described as follows:

The land pit was located 140 yards east of High Nash Farm, measuring 670 feet in length and 135 feet in depth.

The deep pit was situated a quarter of a mile further south, measuring 650 feet in length and 270 feet in depth. Despite its depth, this pit was never worked but was connected to Easter Iron Mine located to the south.

Prior to 1879, approximately 7000 tons of ore were extracted from the land pit and an outcrop-hole west of High Nash Farm. In 1918, a drift was driven a distance of about 100 yards towards the land pit, but no ore was encountered during this effort.
