Several shafts are scattered throughout the woodland, particularly around the wheelpit and shaft at SJ 1985 6166.
Numerous spoil heaps with traces of ash slag spread across the area. A partially preserved stone structure, measuring approximately 5 by 4 meters, remains mostly at ground level, except for its north wall, which stands at 2 meters high. Built on a natural bank, the structure has no discernible features. The presence of slag in the waste suggests that engine power was used, though there are no visible watercourses in the area.
To the west of this structure, a stone-built wheelpit remains intact at an estimated height of 2 meters, with a shaft located just beyond it.
The main mining area remains within Cefn-y-fedw Wood and was operated by the Coedyfedw and Pantybuarth Company during the late 19th century.
